Geeta is a divine and sacred scripture—it holds the answers to life’s questions: CM Dr. Yadav
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that the Shrimad Bhagavad Geeta is a unique and sacred scripture. Studying the Geeta resolves all questions and curiosities of human life. He said that the wisdom of the Geeta is the very foundation of all knowledge and consciousness in creation. Yogiraj Lord Shrikrishna has shown humanity the true path of dharma, karma and spiritual truth. By teaching karma yoga, selfless action and the observance of dharma, Lord Shrikrishna indicated the highest path for human life, to perform one’s duty (svadharma) while living in the material world, without attachment to the fruits of one’s actions. This divine path leads a person towards liberation and supreme peace. Through karma yoga, Lord Shrikrishna inspired the world community to follow their dharma. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the International Geeta Mahotsav at Ravindra Bhavan on Monday. He extended greetings to all citizens on Geeta Jayanti and said that the Geeta reminds us that the soul must ultimately merge with the Supreme.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav formally inaugurated the International Geeta Mahotsav by lighting a ceremonial lamp amidst Vedic chants and offering a garland to the image of Lord Shrikrishna . In
the presence of Shrikrishna devotees, acharyas and saints, 11,000 Shrikrishna devotees, vaidik batuks and school students recited in unison the 15th chapter of the Shrimad Bhagavad Geeta. The collective chanting of this Purushottam Adhyaya filled the entire atmosphere with spiritual energy. This unique confluence of faith, culture and technology presented the teachings of the Geeta in a new dimension and raised fresh awareness of the Geeta’s values in society. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav took a group photograph with all the Geeta chanters. He said that on this sacred occasion of Geeta Jayanti, it feels as if Gopal Krishna himself is present with us. Last year, 3,500 students set a remarkable record by reciting the Geeta together at Lal Parade Ground in Bhopal. This year, an unprecedented record will be created as more than 300,000 Geeta chanters across all 55 districts, 10 divisions and 313 development blocks of the state recite the 15th chapter. He recalled that after slaying Kansa, Lord Shrikrishna placed the highest importance on education. Even more than 5,000 years ago, India had institutional systems for students to study in gurukuls. Lord Shrikrishna himself came to the Sandipani Ashram in Ujjain, where he learned the four Vedas, all Upanishads, 64 art forms and 14 branches of knowledge. It was in this very ashram, on the sacred soil of Madhya Pradesh, that the immortal friendship of Shrikrishna and Sudama was nurtured. Their bond reminds us to cherish our childhood companions and to extend quiet, selfless help to those in need.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the life of Lord Shrikrishna is defined by struggle, duty, and purposeful action. In the Mahabharata war, he taught Arjuna the philosophy of karma, explaining that in fulfilling one’s duties, a person must choose the path of responsibility over attachment and illusion. Every being born in this world is destined for death, and in the 15th chapter, Shrikrishna gives the supreme knowledge of the relationship between the soul and the Supreme. Every moment of Shrikrishna ’s life offers something to learn; even the Lord had to take birth on earth in human form and experience both joy and sorrow. Human beings must experience the results of all accumulated and earned karmas from the moment of birth.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said the state government is developing every site associated with the leelas of Lord Shrikrishna as a pilgrimage centre. All places touched by the feet of the Lord are being linked under the concept of ‘Shri Shrikrishna Pathey’. The Geeta Bhavans are being constructed in all urban local bodies of the state to meet the need for community spaces. The first such Geeta Bhavan, constructed at Rajwada in Indore, has been completed and is now being inaugurated.
Additional Chief Secretary for Home, Culture and Tourism, Shri Sheo Shekhar Shukla, said that under Chief Minister Dr. Yadav’s leadership, cultural events in the state have gained a new direction, and the Chief Minister is, in the truest sense, a guardian of Madhya Pradesh’s art and culture. On Geeta Jayanti, 11,000 devotees recited the 15th chapter in Ujjain, while a new record is being set with more than 300,000 participants chanting across the State. He said that the government is working with full dedication to take the message of the Geeta to every household.
For the first time at the International Geeta Mahotsav, an AI-based musical production, ‘Shrikrishna yan,’ is being staged, offering audiences a vivid and immersive experience of Lord Shrikrishna ’s divine life and teachings. Dance dramas by global Geeta organisations, the unique ‘Geeta on Wheels’ performance by differently abled artists and an attractive painting exhibition are among the key highlights of this year’s Geeta Jayanti celebrations.
The event was attended by Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Shri Vishvas Kailash Sarang, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare Smt. Shrikrishna Gaur, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Culture and Tourism, Shri Dharmendra Singh Lodhi, MLAs Shri Rameshwar Sharma, Shri Bhawandas Sabnani and Shri Vishnu Khatri; Dr. Umesh Vaidya; Dr. Vishnu Narayan Tiwari; Pt.
