Registration and Stamps Department Gets Approval for 3,952 Posts, Including 965 New Positions – Inspector General of Registration Ravindra Binwade
Pune, December 2025 : The Government of Maharashtra, through the Revenue and Forest Department, has approved the revised cadre structure of the Registration and Stamps Department. With the creation of 965 new positions, the total number of sanctioned posts in the department has increased to 3,952, informed Inspector General of Registration Ravindra Binwade.
Following the directions of Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, the government sanctioned 965 new posts in the Stamps and Registration Department, bringing the total approved posts to 3,952 through a decision issued on December 4, 2025. Out of the previously sanctioned 3,094 posts, 107 positions have been abolished.
The creation of new sub-registrar offices, the increase in document volume, and the expanded scope of work were key factors considered. Additional Chief Secretary Vikas Kharge provided important guidance for this exercise. The revised cadre structure is expected to make the department more capable, efficient, and robust.
With adequate manpower available, the department will be better positioned to fulfill the annual revenue targets, thereby boosting the state’s revenue. The decision will also play a critical role in achieving the government’s goal of providing faster and higher-quality services to citizens, said Inspector General Binwade.
The Registration and Stamps Department is the second most important revenue-generating department of the state government. Binwade also noted that the demand for revising the cadre structure had been pending since 2016.
