Khawzawlah 2nd India Reserve Battalion Celebrates Silver Jubilee

Khawzawl, December 2025: The Khawzawlah 2nd India Reserve Battalion (2nd IR Bn.) marked its 25th anniversary (Silver Jubilee) at its headquarters today. The event was graced by Director-General of Police, Mr. Sharad Agarwal, who inaugurated the Silver Jubilee celebrations.

In his address, DGP Sharad Agarwal highlighted the battalion’s 25 years of service, praising its discipline, dedication, and invaluable contributions in maintaining law and order. He noted that the battalion has played a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of the people of Khawzawl, Champhai, and Saitual districts. He also appreciated the battalion for its exemplary handling of both routine and challenging situations, including night patrols and law enforcement duties, which have consistently earned public trust and recognition.

DGP Agarwal further emphasized the importance of continuous training and dedication, encouraging the officers and personnel to maintain high standards of professionalism in the years to come.

During the event, 2nd IR Bn. Commandant, Mr. KL Vulmawia, spoke about the achievements and journey of the battalion over the past 25 years. 2nd RO Mr. C. Lalremruata provided an overview of the battalion’s structure, responsibilities, and notable accomplishments. Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Eastern Range, Mr. Rohit Meena, also addressed the gathering, stressing the importance of community engagement, discipline, and preparedness among the officers and personnel.

The Deputy Commandant, Mr. R. Lalrinmawia, spoke on the battalion’s operational achievements, highlighting key initiatives that strengthened law enforcement and public service. The battalion has effectively used cultural programs, music, and traditional activities to engage with the community and foster public goodwill, a point appreciated by DGP Sharad Agarwal during his address.

The Silver Jubilee event also witnessed the participation of DIG Armed, Mr. Saidingliana, along with representatives from various Khawzawla department units, reflecting the support and camaraderie across the region’s police network.

The celebrations underscored the battalion’s commitment to public safety, law enforcement excellence, and community engagement, marking a significant milestone in its 25-year legacy.
