Raipur Literary Festival 2026: Poetry and Story Competitions for College Students Across All Districts

Raipur, Dec 2025: Ahead of the Raipur Literary Festival 2026, which will be held next month in Naya Raipur, story and poetry competitions will be organized for college students in all districts of the state. Winners at the district level will receive awards, and district-level winners will advance to the state-level competition. The best story and poem at the state level will be honored during the Raipur Literary Festival. Nodal officers have been appointed for each district to oversee the competition.

Students wishing to participate can submit their original poems and stories to the district nodal officer’s office by December 30, 2025. Entries received after this date will not be considered. The festival, scheduled from January 23–25, 2026, aims to celebrate the state’s rich literary heritage and encourage youth participation in creative writing.

Awards:
At the district level, the first prize will be ₹5,100, the second prize ₹3,100, and the third prize ₹1,500. Additionally, three encouragement awards of ₹1,000 each will be given in both competitions. District winners will advance to the state-level competition. At the state level, the first prize will be ₹21,000, the second prize ₹11,000, and the third prize ₹7,000, with three encouragement awards of ₹5,100 each for both competitions.

Entry Requirements:

  • Poetry must be original, unpublished, typed, and at least 8 stanzas long.
  • Stories must be original, unpublished, typed, and a minimum of 1,200 words.
  • Participants must be college or university students and under 40 years of age.
  • A college ID or principal’s certificate must accompany the entry.
  • The jury’s decision will be final and binding.

Prizes will be announced in January 2026, and winners will be awarded at the Raipur Literary Festival on January 23–25, 2026. Entries must include “Youth Hindi Poetry-Story Writing Competition” at the top and on the envelope. Selected poems and stories will be compiled and published, with the release taking place during the festival.
