TVK Gears Up for Vijay’s Campaign Meeting in Erode
Erode, Dec 2025 : Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) has made extensive arrangements for the campaign meeting to be addressed by party chief Vijay on December 18 in Erode district of Tamil Nadu. Party leaders said the preparations exceed the requirements laid down by the police and are focused on ensuring safety, smooth crowd movement, and convenience for the large gathering expected at the event.
The meeting will be held near the Vijayamangalam toll plaza in Perundurai taluk. On Tuesday, TVK administrative committee chief coordinator K.A. Sengottaiyan visited the venue and briefed the media on the scale of preparations being put in place.
Sengottaiyan said the party was paying special attention to security, crowd control, and basic facilities for attendees. “The arrangements for this meeting will set a new benchmark for public gatherings in Tamil Nadu,” he said, adding that the party wanted the event to be safe, orderly, and comfortable for everyone.
To strengthen security and monitoring, 40 CCTV cameras have been installed across the venue. These cameras will help organisers and security personnel track crowd movement and respond quickly to any issues. In addition, 40 walkie-talkies will be used by volunteers and coordinators to ensure real-time communication and quick decision-making during the event.
Medical preparedness has been significantly enhanced, keeping in mind the large turnout expected. A total of 24 ambulances will be stationed at the venue, supported by a medical team consisting of 72 doctors and 120 nurses. Sengottaiyan said these arrangements were made to ensure immediate medical attention in case of any emergencies.
Special focus has also been given to basic amenities. Drinking water will be stored in 20 large tanks and supplied to attendees through bottled water distribution. To cater to sanitation needs, temporary toilets have been installed at 20 different locations around the venue, ensuring easy access for the public.
As a precautionary step, three fire service vehicles will remain on standby throughout the event. Organisers have also worked closely with the police to plan traffic management and parking arrangements. Separate parking zones have been created to prevent congestion on nearby roads, including a dedicated 20-acre parking area exclusively for two-wheelers.
Sengottaiyan said the entry and exit of participants have been carefully planned to avoid overcrowding. As many as 14 exit routes have been identified to ensure smooth dispersal after the meeting concludes.
According to the organisers, around 10,000 party cadres and nearly 25,000 members of the general public are expected to attend the meeting. Entry to the venue will be open, and no passes or QR codes will be required. The timing for allowing people into the venue will be decided by the police on the day of the event.
The police have informed the party that approximately 1,500 personnel will be deployed to handle security and crowd control during the meeting. Sengottaiyan said TVK was fully cooperating with the authorities to ensure that all guidelines are followed.
He also clarified that no separate or formal welcome area has been arranged for party chief Vijay. This, he said, reflects the party’s emphasis on simplicity and its priority on public safety over ceremonial arrangements.
