Veer Bal Diwas: Council and KGBV schools emerge as a research facility for national consciousness

Lucknow, December 2025 : Under the leadership and guidance of Basic Education Minister Sandeep Singh, and in accordance with the directions of the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India, the observance of ‘Veer Bal Diwas’ was successfully completed today across the state. The program was organized simultaneously in approximately 1.32 lakh council-run primary, upper primary, composite, and Kasturba Gandhi Residential Girls’ Schools located in all 75 districts of the state, with active participation of more than 14.8 crore boy and girl students.
The program was not merely a formal event, but emerged as an effective medium for instilling values of courage, valour, sense of duty, and patriotism in young minds. Through inspiring stories of the nation’s brave children, students were given the message that history is created not by age, but by resolve and valor.
On this occasion, students were connected with the core values of nation-building through school prayer assemblies, readings of inspirational stories related to brave children, dialogue sessions, and creative activities. The main program organized in New Delhi was also broadcasted in schools, further strengthening the national spirit of the event.
Educationists believe that ‘Veer Bal Diwas’ has played an important role in strengthening schools not just as academic institutions, but as laboratories of values, courage, and national consciousness.
Sandeep Singh, Basic Education Minister, Uttar Pradesh said, “Veer Bal Diwas strengthens the values of courage, self-confidence, and patriotism among children. Today, this message has reached every school in the state that it is not age, but resolve and valor that create history.”
On this occasion, activities such as drawing, poetry recitation, essay writing, poster making, debates, and dialogue sessions were organized in schools. Teachers introduced students to the lives, courageous decisions, and social contributions of brave children, leading to the development of inspiration, self-confidence, and moral values among students.
For wide publicity of the program, social media and other communication platforms were used effectively. Continuous monitoring of the event was carried out by District Basic Education Officers and Block Education Officers. Photographs, videos, and brief reports from districts were also compiled at the departmental level.
Monika Rani, Director General, School Education said,”Through Veer Bal Diwas, value-based, leadership-oriented, and self-confident education has been further strengthened in schools by connecting students with inspiring stories.”
