IG Bastar Distributes Smartphones and Training Kits to 35 Rehabilitated Youths
Raipur, December 2025: Bastar Inspector General of Police, Shri Sundarraj P., on Tuesday inspected the rehabilitation centre being run under the Puna Margem: From Rehabilitation to Renewal initiative at village Devkhargaon in Kondagaon district. During the visit, he interacted with the rehabilitated youths residing at the centre and reviewed the training programmes being conducted, along with the benefits being extended under various government schemes. On the occasion, he distributed smartphones and training kits to 35 rehabilitated youths.

While interacting with the rehabilitated individuals, IG Bastar said that the government’s objective is to make people who have abandoned the path of violence self-reliant by linking them with skill training and various government welfare schemes. This, he said, would enable them to lead a dignified life and become agents of positive change in society. He urged the rehabilitated youths to make full and enthusiastic use of the training period and to apply the skills learned not only to improve their own lives but also to spread awareness and development in their native villages. He also expressed gratitude to the rehabilitated persons for choosing the path of development.
Collector Ms. Nupur Rashi Panna briefed about the training programmes and activities being conducted at the rehabilitation centre. She said the government’s aim is to ensure that, after completing training, rehabilitated individuals become capable of supporting their families through self-employment.
Superintendent of Police Shri Pankaj Chandra explained the process of providing skill training in various trades and linking beneficiaries with government schemes under the Puna Margem: Rehabilitation to Renewal programme.
On this occasion, District Panchayat CEO Shri Avinash Bhoi, Additional Superintendents of Police Shri Rupesh Dande and Shri Kaushalendra Dev Patel, Rehabilitation Centre In-charge Shri Puneshwar Verma, along with officers and personnel of the police department, were present.
