Achieve goal of ‘Samriddh Kisan–Samriddh Pradesh’ in Agricultural Year 2026: CM Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister Dr.Mohan Yadav has announced that 2026 will be observed as the ‘Agricultural Year’ in the state. With diverse climatic zones, adequate irrigation facilities, and a strong road network, these strengths should be leveraged to implement goal-oriented activities aimed at increasing farmers’ income and generating employment in the agriculture sector, thereby realising the vision of ‘Samridhh Kisan-Samridhh Pradesh’. The Chief Minister expressed these views while reviewing the action plan prepared by departments related to agriculture and allied sectors for the upcoming Agricultural Year at Samatva Bhavan (Chief Minister’s Residence).

Priority to Farmers’ Income Growth and Employment Generation

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that all activities initiated in Agricultural Year 2026 should be implemented with a clearly defined three-year roadmap. Priority should be given to agriculture mechanisation, capacity-building of farmers through training and exposure visits, establishment of food processing units, expansion of horticulture, and activities based on the formation of Farmer-Producer Organisations (FPOs). He also directed that efforts be made to ensure access to loans at affordable interest rates, promote micro-irrigation, strengthen market linkages, ensure remunerative prices for farmers’ produce, and encourage activities such as animal husbandry and fisheries.
Special emphasis was laid on climate-resilient farm management, sustainable agriculture, the promotion of Shree Anna (millets), conservation of biodiversity and traditional agricultural knowledge, and the promotion of natural and organic farming The Chief Minister further stressed the need to ensure research, innovation, and robust digital systems in agriculture to strengthen the national and global presence of the state’s agricultural products.

Exposure Visits for Farmers

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that farmers should be familiarised with successful innovations in agriculture and allied sectors being undertaken in other states. He also directed that farmers be taken on exposure visits to agriculturally advanced states and innovation-leading countries such as Israel and Brazil.
To achieve the goal of “Prosperous Farmers, Prosperous State,” departments including Farmer Welfare, Cooperation, Animal Husbandry and Dairy, Panchayat and Rural Development, Revenue, Horticulture and Food Processing, Energy, New and Renewable Energy, Fishermen Welfare and Fisheries Development, and Irrigation should work in close coordination.

Promote Floriculture Across All Districts

It was informed in the meeting that the International Rose Competition 2028 is proposed to be held in Bhopal.

Keeping in view ‘Simhastha 2028’, floriculture is being specially promoted over 100 acres in the Ujjain district.
