Live demonstrations on scientifically correct CPR techniques were conducted, along with guidance on providing first aid during medical emergencies such as sudden fainting, excessive bleeding, and difficulty in breathing.

As part of National Road Safety Month, road safety campaigns and training programs are being organized across the state to raise public awareness about road safety.

Raipur, January 2026 – Passengers, vehicle drivers, and field staff were given practical training on how to handle emergency situations during a live mock drill conducted today on National Highway-53. The exercise was organized by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) as part of its ongoing campaigns to promote road safety awareness on national highways.

During the mock drill, experts demonstrated methods for providing immediate assistance in road accident scenarios and medical emergencies. A live demonstration of CPR using scientifically correct techniques was shown to the participants. The session also included guidance on first aid for sudden fainting, severe bleeding, and breathing difficulties.

Additionally, participants were educated on safety measures to be followed in case of vehicle breakdowns or road accidents. Experts provided detailed instructions on safely evacuating passengers from vehicles after an accident, maintaining calm, and following necessary precautions during such situations.

Efforts to Enhance Road Safety During Fog and Night Travel

During National Road Safety Month, NHAI has also initiated measures to reduce accidents during winter fog and nighttime travel. Vehicles are being fitted with retro-reflective tape to improve visibility. Drivers and passengers are being urged to wear helmets, use seat belts, and strictly adhere to prescribed speed limits to enhance road safety.

These initiatives aim to equip drivers, passengers, and field staff with practical skills and awareness to respond effectively during emergencies, while simultaneously promoting safer travel on highways across the state.
