Mizoram Governor Felicitates Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar Awardee Esther Hnamte
Aizawl, January, 2026: Esther Lalduhawmi Hnamte, recipient of India’s highest civilian honour for children – the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar 2025 – was felicitated today by Mizoram Governor, General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh, PVSM, AVSM, YSM (Retd), at Lok Bhavan, Aizawl.
Congratulating Esther Hnamte on her remarkable achievement, General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh said that her success is a matter of immense pride not only for Mizoram but for the entire nation. He encouraged her to continue disciplined training and strive for greater excellence in the future, noting that she stands as an inspiration and a symbol of potential for young talents across the country.
The Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar, instituted by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, recognises exceptional achievements of children aged 5 to 18 years in seven categories – Bravery, Art & Culture, Environment, Innovation, Social Service, Science & Technology, and Sports. This year, 20 outstanding children from 18 States and Union Territories were selected for the prestigious award. Esther Hnamte was honoured in the Art & Culture category by President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, on December 26, 2025.
