Shiv Sena Chief Eknath Shinde Launches Aggressive Campaign for Navi Mumbai Municipal Elections

Mumbai, January 2026: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Shiv Sena chief Eknath Shinde on Thursday kicked off a high-energy campaign for the upcoming Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation elections. Addressing multiple public meetings and leading roadshows across the city, Shinde appealed to voters to end the “monopoly of dynastic and established leadership” by voting for the Shiv Sena’s “bow and arrow” symbol on January 15.

During the campaign, Shinde received a grand welcome from residents, including female beneficiaries of the Ladki Behen Yojana, youth, and senior citizens, who showered him with flowers. Calling the municipal elections a contest between “development versus rhetoric” and “public servants versus landlords,” Shinde urged voters to deliver a decisive mandate to Shiv Sena candidates and raise the party’s saffron flag over the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation.

Shinde’s remarks were a direct challenge to rival leaders, particularly BJP minister Ganesh Naik, as the Shiv Sena and BJP are contesting the civic elections independently. Shinde criticized political opponents, saying, “Some people consider themselves masters and the public slaves. We consider ourselves servants and the public our masters. In 2022, the country witnessed what happens when someone challenges the will of the people.”

Highlighting disparities in the city’s development, Shinde noted that while major roads are well-developed, the inner residential areas remain neglected, resembling “backward villages.” He accused long-serving leaders of failing to address these issues despite decades in power and cautioned voters against believing empty promises.

Shinde assured residents that all pending civic concerns, including housing, urban redevelopment, and basic amenities like hospitals, parks, and roads, would be addressed on a priority basis through the Urban Development Department. He emphasized that funding would not be a constraint for the comprehensive transformation of Navi Mumbai.

Expressing confidence in a strong performance, Shinde said the “miracle” witnessed during the state assembly elections would be replicated in the municipal polls. He underscored that a Shiv Sena victory would ensure the continuation of welfare programs such as the Ladki Behen Yojana while accelerating the city’s overall development.

Shinde’s campaign strategy combines high-profile public engagement with targeted criticism of political rivals, positioning the Shiv Sena as a party committed to grassroots development and citizen welfare. With municipal elections just days away, his message emphasized accountability, tangible development, and a direct appeal to the electorate to vote for change under the bow and arrow symbol.
