New Delhi, January 2026 : Delhi Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta hoisted the National Flag and took the salute at the parade during the state-level ceremony held at Chhatrasal Stadium, Model Town, on the occasion of the 77th Republic Day. Extending Republic Day greetings to the nation and the people of Delhi, she reaffirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to the Constitution, democracy and national unity.

The Chief Minister also presented her government’s 11-month report card covering education, health, green energy, key public issues and infrastructure development. Personnel from the Delhi Police, Fire Service and other departments who displayed exemplary courage and dedication to duty were honoured with medals. The ceremony also featured vibrant cultural performances reflecting India’s diversity and patriotic spirit.

In her address, the Chief Minister said that 26 January symbolises India’s self-respect, democratic consciousness and the resolve for complete sovereignty. Paying tribute to freedom fighters and martyrs, she saluted the architects of the Constitution, especially Bharat Ratna Dr B. R. Ambedkar. Describing 2025-26 as a significant year connected with national memories and inspirations, she referred to Delhi’s rich history and said the city reflects the soul of India. She underlined that Delhi is moving towards the goal of a ‘Viksit Delhi’ in alignment with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s Vision 2047. Over the past 11 months, she noted, the Delhi Government has taken several people-centric decisions guided by constitutional values and the ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ mantra.

Speaking on welfare for the underprivileged, the Chief Minister highlighted initiatives such as Atal Canteens, the implementation of Ayushman Bharat, digital health services, new hospitals, ambulances, and the recruitment of doctors and nurses under the 3-A Health Model. In the education sector, she cited increased budgets, smart schools, fee regulation, scholarships, the laptop scheme, and the Education Hub at Narela, describing these as key steps towards making Delhi a capital of ideas and innovation.

She also shared details of the highest incentives for sportspersons in the country, increased capital expenditure on infrastructure, the target of 100 per cent electric buses, metro expansion and green transport initiatives. The address also covered social security schemes for women, workers and vulnerable sections, the Safe City Project, judicial reforms and urban development works.

Calling economic growth, ease of doing business, MSME support, environmental protection and the rejuvenation of the Yamuna top priorities, the Chief Minister appealed to citizens to support cleanliness drives, environmental conservation and the use of public transport. Concluding her address, she praised the police, NCC cadets and sanitation workers, expressing confidence that through the joint efforts of the government and the people, Delhi will soon emerge as an ideal capital marked by dignity, peace and equal opportunities.
