The Aam Aadmi Party today released a public welfare Guarantee Letter for the city of Gandhinagar and the people of Gandhinagar regarding the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation election. During this, Aam Aadmi Party State Vice President Gauri Desai, State Vice President Kailashdan Gadhvi, State Organization Minister Vikram Dave and State Organization Minister and State Chief Spokesperson Dr. Karan Barot were present. Speaking about the Guarantee Letter, State Vice President Gauri Desai stated that, under the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation election, the Aam Aadmi Party is releasing a Guarantee Letter today for the people of Gandhinagar on 14 different issues. It is our resolve to work on all these 14 issues, including education, health, water and public facilities, employment and economic development, tax and civic relief, transportation, parking and road safety, women and child safety, development of farmers and rural areas, environment and cleanliness, sports and cultural development, arrangements for animals, fire safety and disaster management, transparency and accountability, social justice and prohibition. The Aam Aadmi Party will fulfill this resolve by going door-to-door and working for the people. In the last election, the people of Gandhinagar gave 22% votes to the Aam Aadmi Party, and this time we hope that the people of Gandhinagar will make the Aam Aadmi Party win and make it the mayor.
Furthermore, Aam Aadmi Party leader Gauri Desai stated that, in the areas of corporators where activities related to liquor are taking place, there is collusion between MLAs, corporators and ministers, due to which these things do not come out. If the corporator wishes and wants to raise public issues to serve the people, then they will take up the issue of prohibition in the Corporation and will get the sale of liquor stopped wherever it is taking place. We campaigned in the last election and are campaigning this time as well, and we are seeing that the problems that existed remain as they are. If there is a little rain, waterlogging occurs, there are still problems in the drainage system, rural areas have not developed, and despite being the capital of Gujarat, Gandhinagar still has many problems, and the Aam Aadmi Party will work strongly on all these issues.
Addressing the press conference, Aam Aadmi Party State Vice President Kailashdan Gadhvi stated that, for the last five years, there has been a triple-engine government in the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation, consisting of the Central Government, State Government and Municipal Corporation, yet what have they given to Gandhinagar? If we look at the work done over the last five years, three main things emerge, in which the Municipal Corporation has failed to fulfill its primary responsibilities and provide services. Through the Municipal Corporation, sewage water gets mixed with drinking water and people have been forced to drink contaminated water from house to house, due to which an epidemic has spread on a large scale and the entire city has been affected by illness. Despite this, neither this government nor the head of the Municipal Corporation is ready to resign, no investigation is being conducted, and no legal action is being taken against those responsible. An example of the mismanagement of the Mayor and administration of Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation is that 80 percent of the newly laid sewage lines in the city are even higher than the level of the houses! Due to this, people cannot take connections, because if the connection is activated, instead of sewage water going into the line, it comes back into people’s homes. They have carried out such thoughtless planning. Thirdly, Gandhinagar was known as the world’s greenest capital (green capital), but in the blind race for development, greenery has been taken away by indiscriminately cutting trees and new plantations are not being carried out against it. Due to this, Gandhinagar is losing its identity as a green city. As the Aam Aadmi Party, our effort will be to ensure that people firmly receive pure drinking water, a proper drainage system and all basic facilities.
Answering questions from journalists, Kailashdan Gadhvi stated that whenever good work has been done in the history of India, the opposing side has used means such as saam, daam, dand, bhed and hooliganism. What is called the ‘Chanakya policy’ in Gujarat today is actually hooligan elements and hooliganism, due to which people are afraid. But we are workers of the Aam Aadmi Party, people who live among the public. We will not tolerate any kind of pressure, threat or interference in our work. We will reach the people through the media and responsible journalists and expose those who are working beyond their limits. Answering a question regarding AAP MLA Chaitar Vasava, he stated that Chaitar Vasava is a great tribal leader. After many years, such a tribal leader has emerged in the history of India who is truly fighting for water, forests and land. A false case has been filed against Chaitarbhai, and even though he is in jail, his feelings remain connected with the people of his area. People also know that a false case has been filed against him, and the party will certainly benefit from this sentiment. This is political oppression against Chaitarbhai. This is not the first time he has gone to jail; he has gone to jail many times and come out, yet there will be no change in his opposition and his struggle.
Aam Aadmi Party State Organization Minister Vikram Dave stated that, after the Corporation elections were held in Gujarat in April 2026, when other political parties took a break, the Aam Aadmi Party made tireless efforts without taking even a single day off to fill the gaps in its organization. Today, the party has reached the verge of reaching the booth level. This is not something new; last time, when we did not have so many organizational activities, we still received 22 percent of the votes. The corporators who were elected from our party remained with the Aam Aadmi Party for all five years, while Congress corporators went to the BJP. The Aam Aadmi Party is a staunchly honest party, and the organizational advantage it is going to receive this time appears to be very significant. The organization is now being rebuilt strongly.
