New Delhi, Sept 2026 : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to hold a key meeting of its IT and social media leadership in the national capital on Sunday, with discussions expected to focus on strengthening the party’s digital outreach and preparing for upcoming Assembly elections.
The meeting will be chaired by BJP National President Nitin Nabin and National General Secretary (Organisation) BL Santhosh. Members of the party’s national digital team and state-level heads of its IT and social media units are expected to participate.
According to sources, the deliberations will focus on three broad areas — strengthening the ongoing ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’, reviewing the party’s digital strategy ahead of forthcoming Assembly elections and expanding engagement with Gen-Z voters.
The Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, launched to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years in public life, is expected to be a major focus of the meeting. BJP digital teams are likely to discuss ways to take the campaign to a wider audience through coordinated online activities and greater dissemination of campaign-related content.
The meeting is also expected to examine the role of digital platforms in the party’s preparations for upcoming elections in several states. Discussions could include the development of election-related content, its rapid distribution across social media platforms and methods of communicating the party’s message to different sections of voters.
Another significant part of the agenda will be outreach to younger voters, particularly those belonging to Generation Z. Party functionaries are expected to discuss developing digital content that addresses the interests, aspirations and concerns of younger Indians.
The focus, sources said, is likely to be on creating sustained engagement with Gen-Z users rather than merely increasing the number of followers or overall digital reach.
The BJP’s digital and social media network has expanded significantly in recent months, with state and national teams increasingly coordinating online campaigns. The September 20 meeting is expected to discuss the next phase of this expansion and ways to improve the quality of interaction with audiences across platforms.
Party leaders are also expected to stress the importance of maintaining accuracy, appropriate tone and responsible communication while conducting digital campaigns. The discussions are likely to centre on creating an active and responsive digital presence while ensuring that campaign messaging remains consistent across different platforms and organisational levels.
The meeting will be conducted in a hybrid format. While most participants are expected to attend the meeting physically in Delhi, selected state-level functionaries will participate virtually.
The gathering comes as the BJP continues its organisational and digital preparations ahead of upcoming Assembly elections. The meeting is expected to provide a platform for national and state digital teams to review ongoing initiatives and coordinate their strategies for the months ahead.
