Message on Debt Relief Scheme and Agricultural Department Schemes
Amravati, Sept 2026 : Officials and employees of the District Deputy Registrar’s Office sensitised villagers at a ‘Lok Samvad’ programme organised by the Shiv Tandav Ganeshotsav Mandal in Revsa village. Through an engaging presentation, they highlighted how farmers facing problems such as inadequate rainfall and crop losses often borrow money from moneylenders to sustain their farming and households, eventually becoming trapped in the cycle of debt, and explained its adverse impact on their families and society.
During the programme, villagers were asked about their experiences, including the benefits they had received under the Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Farmer Debt Relief Scheme, as well as the difficulties they were facing in availing themselves of the scheme. Information was also provided about the offices, mechanisms, websites and portals available to resolve their grievances and difficulties.
Earlier, District Information Office Information Officer Ritesh Bhuyar briefed the villagers about the ‘Lok Samvad’ programme being implemented across the state by the Directorate General of Information and Public Relations under the Seva Sankalp campaign.
Subsequently, a team of 15 officials and employees from the District Deputy Registrar’s Office, led by Assistant Registrar Swati Gudhe and including Assistant Registrars Aniruddha Raut and Chhaya Deshmukh, presented a street play titled ‘Savkari Pash’ (The Moneylending Trap).
Following the performance, the team interacted directly with the villagers and provided information about the Maharashtra Money-Lending (Regulation) Act, 2014. The officials explained that the legislation is an important legal framework aimed at protecting poor people, farmers and the general public in Maharashtra from illegal and unregulated moneylending practices and financial exploitation.
Representing the Agriculture Department, Assistant Agriculture Officer Chhaya Deshmukh of Revsa briefed farmers about several government schemes and initiatives. These included the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchay Yojana, Sub-Mission on Agricultural Mechanisation, Chief Minister Sustainable Agriculture Irrigation Scheme, Magel Tyala Shettale (farm pond for those who demand it), Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, Nanaji Deshmukh Krishi Sanjivani Yojana, National Food Security Mission and Horticulture Development programmes.
Revsa village Police Patil Chhaya Wankhade also addressed the gathering and expressed satisfaction over the information being provided to citizens about various government schemes through the ‘Lok Samvad’ initiative.
Shiv Tandav Ganeshotsav Mandal president Dnyaneshwar Wankhade, office-bearers of the mandal, and a large number of women, men and young people were present at the programme.
The Directorate General of Information and Public Relations is conducting the ‘Lok Samvad’ initiative across Maharashtra from September 16 to 24 through District Information Offices to create awareness among citizens about various government schemes and programmes.
