‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ Event in Ujjain

New Delhi, Sept 2026 : BJP National President Nitin Nabin on Thursday extended birthday greetings to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, praising his public service and saying that India is progressing in development and self-reliance under his leadership.

In a post on X, Nabin described Modi as a leader committed to national service and dedication. He said the Prime Minister’s journey reflected the principles of “Nation First” and highlighted what he described as his focus on good governance and public welfare.

Nabin also wished Modi good health, long life and continued strength for public service. His message came as the BJP organised nationwide programmes to mark the Prime Minister’s birthday and his 25 years in public life.

Prime Minister Modi was born on September 17, 1950, in Vadnagar, Gujarat. He became Prime Minister on May 26, 2014, and is currently serving his third consecutive term. He represents Varanasi in the Lok Sabha.

Meanwhile, Nabin began a two-day visit to Madhya Pradesh on Thursday, covering Indore and Ujjain as part of the BJP’s ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’. The campaign is being organised in connection with Modi’s birthday and the completion of 25 years of his public life.

During his visit to Indore, Nabin is scheduled to participate in an event at Gandhi Nagar Ground and inaugurate a new statewide registration process under the Swamitva Scheme.

He will subsequently travel to Ujjain, where he is scheduled to participate in the Shipra Aarti at Ram Ghat and light the ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ as part of the birthday celebrations. The programme is being organised along the banks of the Shipra River.

The Ujjain programme is expected to feature a large-scale lamp-lighting ceremony, with reports indicating that around 25 lakh diyas will be illuminated along the riverfront and surrounding areas.

Nabin will also attend a bhajan programme at Ram Ghat later in the evening. On September 18, the BJP president is scheduled to visit the Mahakaleshwar Temple and participate in the Bhasma Aarti before departing Madhya Pradesh.

The ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ includes a series of programmes focused on public participation, service and welfare activities across the country.
