New Delhi, Sept 2026 : Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Thursday extended birthday greetings to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, wishing him good health and a long life.
Kharge conveyed his greetings through a post and prayed for the Prime Minister’s well-being and longevity. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi, many happy returns of the day. May God bless him with good health and a long life,” Kharge said.
Rahul Gandhi also extended his wishes through a post on social media platform X. “Birthday greetings to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. I wish you good health and a long life,” he wrote.
Several other political leaders also conveyed their birthday wishes to the Prime Minister.
Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) MP Supriya Sule wished Modi on his birthday and expressed hope that the coming year would bring him good health.
Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati also extended her greetings to the Prime Minister. In an X post, she wished Modi on his 76th birthday and prayed for his healthy life.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and National Conference leader Omar Abdullah also greeted the Prime Minister, wishing him good health and longevity.
Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal also posted a message on Modi’s birthday. While beginning with birthday wishes, Kejriwal’s post also contained political criticism, alleging large-scale manipulation of voter lists and accusing the Prime Minister of undermining Indian democracy.
Biju Janata Dal president and former Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik also extended birthday greetings to Modi and wished him good health and a long life.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi was born on September 17, 1950, in Vadnagar, Gujarat. He became the Chief Minister of Gujarat in 2001 and continued in the position until 2014, before becoming Prime Minister in May 2014.
Modi has been serving as Prime Minister since May 26, 2014, and is currently in his third consecutive term. He represents Varanasi in the Lok Sabha.
The Prime Minister is also completing 25 years in public life this year, marking a milestone spanning his tenure as Gujarat Chief Minister and his subsequent years at the national level.
The birthday greetings from leaders across different political parties came as political figures acknowledged the occasion while, in some cases, also using their messages to express their respective political positions.
