New Delhi, Sept 2026 : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will launch its month-long ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ on Thursday to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years in public life. The campaign will begin on his 76th birthday and continue until October 17, with a series of service-oriented and public outreach programmes across the country.
The BJP has linked the campaign to October 7, 2001, when Modi took oath as the Chief Minister of Gujarat, marking the beginning of the period the party describes as his 25 years of public service. BJP national president Nitin Nabin had announced the initiative at a press conference at the party headquarters on September 9.
According to Nabin, the campaign is intended to highlight Modi’s journey in public life and the BJP’s account of his work in areas including development, public service and nation-building. The party observes Modi’s birthday as ‘Seva Diwas’, and the month-long programme has been planned around that theme.
The campaign will include blood donation camps, cleanliness drives, public outreach activities, exhibitions, seminars, welfare-scheme awareness programmes and interactions with different sections of society. The BJP has also planned photo and digital exhibitions covering Modi’s political journey and initiatives undertaken by governments led by him.
Special programmes focusing on young people, women, farmers and beneficiaries of government welfare schemes are also expected to form part of the nationwide campaign. Seminars and intellectual forums will discuss themes such as governance, development and Antyodaya, while welfare camps will provide information about schemes run by the Centre and state governments.
Nabin has described Modi’s journey as beginning with his tenure as Gujarat Chief Minister and continuing with his subsequent role as Prime Minister. Modi served as Gujarat Chief Minister from 2001 until 2014, when he moved to national politics and became Prime Minister.
The BJP president has also cited various development and governance initiatives while outlining the party’s objectives behind the campaign. These include initiatives in Gujarat, the Vibrant Gujarat programme, expansion of welfare schemes, efforts relating to women-led development and measures aimed at improving opportunities for young people. Such claims represent the BJP’s political account of Modi’s record and are being presented as part of the campaign’s outreach.
The campaign will also feature public participation programmes. According to reports, a ‘Seva Jyoti Kalash Yatra’ is planned for October 7, while the ‘Seva Mera Yogdan’ programme will encourage participation in various activities during the campaign period.
Nabin is scheduled to launch the BJP’s month-long campaign from Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh, in the presence of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and state BJP president Hemant Khandelwal.
The BJP has said the campaign will seek to take its message about Modi’s 25 years in public life to people across the country through service activities, public engagement and awareness programmes. The nationwide initiative will conclude on October 17.
