Amaravati, Sep 18: The Andhra Pradesh State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB), chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, on Friday approved 10 major Information Technology and futuristic technology projects, with the state government stating that the proposals involve investments of Rs 526.25 crore and are expected to generate 8,896 high-quality jobs.
The approvals are aimed at strengthening Andhra Pradesh's position as a hub for Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence (AI), quantum computing and other emerging technologies, with key developments planned in Visakhapatnam, Amaravati and Kadapa.
According to an official release, leading technology companies have received approvals to establish large-scale operations and training centres in Visakhapatnam. Amaravati, meanwhile, is being positioned as a hub for quantum computing, photonics and AI-driven biotechnology.
The SIPB also approved an extension of the policy incentive timeline under the AP Electronics Policy 2021-24 for AIL Dixon Technologies Pvt Ltd's Rs 70 crore manufacturing unit in Kadapa. The facility is expected to create around 300 jobs.
Several deep-tech projects were approved for Amaravati. Srsti Quantum Pvt Ltd has proposed a Quantum Computing Hardware, Nanofabrication Research and Manufacturing facility, with the release putting its proposed investment at Rs 2,700 crore and expected employment generation at 3,000 jobs.
Quantum Codon Pvt Ltd will invest Rs 167 crore to establish an Integrated Quantum AI-Driven Biotechnology Innovation Campus focused on drug discovery research. The project is expected to create 126 jobs.
Arohak Technologies Pvt Ltd will invest Rs 62 crore in a Photonics Quantum Research and Innovation Centre, which is projected to generate 300 jobs.
The board also cleared TriQuanta Labs Pvt Ltd's proposal to invest Rs 35 crore in a Quantum Innovation Centre along with a hybrid quantum computing hardware manufacturing unit. The project is expected to provide employment to 175 people.
The government said the projects would contribute to the development of an advanced technology ecosystem in the state, while creating opportunities in emerging sectors such as quantum computing, biotechnology, photonics and AI.
The approved initiatives are part of Andhra Pradesh's efforts to attract technology investments, develop specialised skills and establish centres for research, innovation and advanced manufacturing.
