Hyderabad, Sept 2026 : Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Friday said the world is increasingly looking towards Hyderabad not only for investments and business opportunities but also for knowledge, skills, talent, innovation and ideas that could shape the future.
In a post on X, Reddy said he had met a delegation of leading UK business schools and universities to strengthen partnerships in executive education, research, global skills development and industry-academia collaboration.
The Chief Minister announced that Harvard Executive Education programmes will be offered in Hyderabad from December 2026. He said collaborations are also underway with prestigious institutions, including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Purdue University, the University of London, Virginia Tech and Northeastern University.
“Bharat Future will take this vision further - bringing together a world-class Education Hub, Young India Skills University, global companies, cutting-edge research and the talent for the future,” Reddy said.
“Our goal is clear: make Telangana a place where the world comes to learn, innovate and invest. $1 Trillion by 2034 | $3 Trillion by 2047. That's our target,” he added.
Earlier, Reddy had announced that Harvard University would begin offering executive education courses in Hyderabad from December 2026. The initiative is part of the Telangana government's broader efforts to position the state as a global centre for education, skills and innovation.
The Chief Minister held discussions on Thursday with a 30-member delegation representing various UK universities and business schools. The delegation included Lord Karan Bilimoria of the UK House of Lords, Janaka Pushpanathan of the British Council, Flora Hamilton, CEO of the Chartered Association of Business Schools, and representatives of the British Deputy High Commission.
During his interaction with deans and senior officials from the UK institutions, Reddy said the Telangana government was prepared to meet the specific requirements of foreign universities seeking to establish a presence in the state.
He said the process of establishing offshore campuses in Hyderabad by institutions such as MIT and Purdue University was already underway.
According to the Chief Minister, the entry of international educational institutions would create opportunities for greater collaboration between foreign and local universities, industries and research organisations. It would also enable advanced research activities to be undertaken within Telangana.
Reddy said the presence of global business schools and universities would strengthen the state's education ecosystem while creating opportunities for students and faculty to gain international exposure, experience and access to world-class academic programmes.
He also said the establishment of foreign institutions could encourage global companies to explore greater engagement with Telangana, further strengthening Hyderabad's position as a destination for education, innovation, talent and investment.
The initiatives are part of the state government's stated vision of transforming Telangana into a “Global Knowledge Hub” by bringing together education, industry, research and skills development.
