Jaipur, August 2026 : Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma attended a cultural programme organised at Maharaja Ganga Singh University in Bikaner on the eve of the 80th Independence Day.
The programme was filled with patriotic fervour, with artists presenting a series of songs, musical performances and folk programmes that celebrated the spirit of the nation. A special performance by children with hearing and speech disabilities became one of the major highlights of the evening and touched the hearts of everyone present. The entire venue was immersed in an atmosphere of patriotism during their presentation.
Chief Minister Sharma appreciated the performances by the children and other artists and encouraged them for their efforts. He also posed for a group photograph with the performers.
Speaking on the occasion, Sharma said cultural programmes of this nature play an important role in taking India’s rich heritage, national unity and spirit of patriotism to the younger generation. He said such events help strengthen the bond between people and the nation while preserving the country’s cultural traditions.
Before attending the cultural programme, the Chief Minister also visited an exhibition organised by the district administration. The exhibition showcased various initiatives and achievements associated with the district.
The event was attended by Union Minister of State for Law and Justice (Independent Charge) Arjun Ram Meghwal, Rajasthan Food and Civil Supplies Minister Sumit Godara, MLAs Dr Vishwanath Meghwal, Jethanand Vyas and Anshuman Singh Bhati, Chief Secretary V. Srinivas and Director General of Police Rajeev Kumar Sharma.
Several other public representatives, senior government officials and citizens were also present at the programme.
The celebrations in Bikaner marked the beginning of Independence Day festivities and provided a platform for artists, particularly children with disabilities, to showcase their talent while conveying a strong message of patriotism, unity and national pride.
