From Border Outposts to Police Lines, DGP Interacts with Personnel and Reviews Arrangements
Emphasis on Public Cooperation to Prevent Drug Abuse and Cybercrime
Jaipur, September 2026: Rajasthan Director General of Police Rajiv Kumar Sharma, during his three-day tour of western Rajasthan, on Thursday visited the Tanot Mata Temple, inspected police facilities in Jaisalmer and reviewed the law-and-order situation at Sindhari police station in Balotra district.
The DGP began the day by offering prayers and participating in the aarti at Tanot Mata Temple. He then travelled to Jaisalmer, where he inspected the Police Lines, Officers’ Mess, women’s barracks, gymnasium, canteen and the Mahatma Gandhi Government School operating within the Police Lines.
Later, Sharma visited the Sindhari police station in Balotra district, where he reviewed the law-and-order situation and directed police personnel to maintain better coordination with the public and seek community support in preventing drug abuse and cybercrime.
DGP Offers Prayers at Tanot Mata Temple
Sharma visited Tanot Mata Temple in the morning and participated in the aarti. He prayed for prosperity and well-being across the state.
He later reached the Officers’ Mess at the Jaisalmer district headquarters, where he was accorded a guard of honour.
At the Jaisalmer Police Lines, the DGP inspected the gym and canteen established for police officers and personnel. He took information about the facilities being provided to police personnel and issued directions to ensure that the arrangements remained well maintained.
Women’s Barracks Inspected
The DGP also inspected the newly constructed women’s barracks at the Police Lines. He reviewed the facilities available there and directed officials to ensure a better and more comfortable working and living environment for women police personnel.
Sharma subsequently visited the Mahatma Gandhi Government School functioning at the Police Lines. He interacted with teachers and students and took information about teaching and educational arrangements.
He also visited classrooms and spoke with students about their curriculum and studies. During the interaction, he distributed toffees among the students.
Law-and-Order Review at Sindhari Police Station
From Jaisalmer, Sharma travelled to Sindhari police station in Balotra district, where he was accorded a guard of honour. After inspecting the police station, he held a meeting with police officials and reviewed the law-and-order and crime situation in the area.
The DGP instructed police personnel to make policing more effective by maintaining continuous coordination and dialogue with the public. He stressed the importance of seeking public cooperation in preventing drug abuse and protecting people from cybercrime.
He also directed officials to create awareness among local residents and strengthen the exchange of information between citizens and the police.
Interaction with BSF Personnel at Border Post
Earlier on Wednesday night, DGP Rajiv Kumar Sharma visited the Babliyan Border Out Post, where he interacted with BSF officers and personnel and held discussions on border security.
He encouraged the personnel deployed in difficult conditions and reviewed security arrangements along the India-Pakistan international border.
During his interaction with the border guards, Sharma emphasised the need for Rajasthan Police to maintain continuous and effective coordination with the BSF.
He subsequently travelled to Tanot, where he stayed overnight.
IG Satyendra Singh, DIG Kunwar Rashtradeep, Jaisalmer Superintendent of Police Abhishek Shivhare and other police officials were present during the visits.
