Structured approach to expedite disposal of revenue cases; 30,000 completed cases to be sent to Benches
Punctuality, discipline and regular court sittings key to greater efficiency
Jaipur, September 2026 : Chief Secretary Shri V. Srinivas on Thursday emphasised timely disposal of revenue cases and strengthening of the justice delivery system through greater efficiency at the Registry and Bench levels. He said punctuality, discipline, consistency in court sittings and timely judgments are essential for making the system more efficient and effective.
Addressing the Board of Revenue at Ajmer on “Improving Justice Delivery Systems in Revenue Courts of Rajasthan,” Shri Srinivas said that a structured approach could bring down the Board’s pendency from around 80,000 cases to 60,000. He said that the Registry should ensure that at least 30,000 completed cases are sent to the Benches, along with focused campaigns for service of summons.
The Chief Secretary said that streamlining the Registry is among the most important steps towards improving justice delivery. He emphasised completing all processes in incomplete cases and improving the efficiency of Benches to enable the Board to dispose of 1,250 cases per month. He said that consistently higher disposal than admissions would help reduce the pending caseload.
Shri Srinivas underlined the importance of punctuality, discipline and predictability in court functioning. He said SDO courts should hold regular sittings from Monday to Wednesday and ensure that cases move forward whenever cause lists are issued. He also stressed timely and quality judgment writing and recording of evidence in all cases where witnesses attend court.
The Chief Secretary said that improving justice delivery should go hand in hand with timely updation of land records. He emphasised effective supervisory oversight, stronger administrative and judicial processes, expeditious decision-making, greater use of technology and continuous capacity building to further improve the efficiency of revenue courts.
Describing technology as a force multiplier, Shri Srinivas referred to the digital availability of judgments and decrees, online case status, SMS facilities for advocates, the Revenue Court Management System mobile application and online monitoring of the performance of revenue courts. He said these initiatives have strengthened the use of technology in the justice delivery system.
The Chief Secretary also stressed regular inspections of subordinate revenue courts, particularly SDO courts with more than 750 pending cases and critically important urban sub-divisions. He said greater focus on inspections would help strengthen infrastructure and facilitate continuous updation of land records.
Shri Srinivas said that the Board of Revenue has a distinguished legacy and it is our collective responsibility to strengthen the institution and carry its legacy forward. He reiterated the State Government’s commitment to strengthening and modernising the Board of Revenue and improving justice delivery systems in Rajasthan’s revenue courts.
