Madhya Pradesh has achieved a significant milestone in the energy equipment manufacturing sector. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Tuesday handed over a Letter of Intent (LoI) for 60.49 acres of land in Phase-2 of Vikram Udyogpuri, Ujjain to Siemens Energy India Limited at the Mantralaya. The company has proposed an investment of approximately ₹2,053 crore to establish a high-capacity power transformer manufacturing unit at the site. The proposed unit is expected to generate employment for more than 1,500 people.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav handed over the Letter of Intent to Siemens Energy India’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Shri Guilherme Mendonca, Chief Financial Officer Shri Harish Shekhar and Head of Real Estate Shri Puneet Bansal. Managing Director of Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation Limited Shri Chandramouli Shukla was also present.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh is rapidly emerging as one of the country’s leading investment destinations, driven by industry-friendly policies, better connectivity, an available land bank, world-class industrial infrastructure and an investor-friendly environment. He said that the state government is committed to extending all possible support for the speedy implementation of industrial investments and creation of employment opportunities. The Chief Minister said that the proposed project is an important step towards establishing Madhya Pradesh as an emerging hub for energy equipment and electrical infrastructure manufacturing in the country. The investment will provide fresh impetus to advanced manufacturing, industrial development and the creation of skilled employment opportunities in the state.
