203 Blood Donation Camps Organised Across the State; More Than 5,850 Donors Participate
Blood Donation and Blood Group Testing Activities to Continue Till October 17
Jaipur, September 2026: Blood donation camps were organised across Rajasthan as part of the various public service initiatives under the Viksit Bharat–Jan Seva Abhiyan, with more than 5,850 people participating and 5,921 units of blood collected through 203 camps.
Principal Secretary, Medical and Health, Gayatri Rathore, said people from different sections of society, including members of the public, youth and employees of the Health Department, participated enthusiastically in the camps and donated blood.
Rathore said blood donation was a noble service and that blood donors played an important role in saving the lives of patients in need. She said the Viksit Bharat–Jan Seva Abhiyan was promoting public participation and expanding activities related to healthcare and public welfare across the state.
She stressed that regular blood donation was essential to ensure adequate availability of blood. Blood donated by a healthy person can prove life-saving for accident victims, pregnant women and patients suffering from thalassemia and other serious illnesses, she said.
The Principal Secretary said Jaipur District Collector Sandesh Nayak and Alwar District Collector Artika Shukla personally donated blood to encourage citizens to come forward for voluntary blood donation. Both officials emphasised the need to increase awareness about blood donation and encourage more people to become regular donors.
Rathore expressed gratitude to the district administrations, officials and employees of the Medical and Health Department, medical institutions, voluntary organisations and blood donors for their contribution to the successful organisation of the camps.
She said such campaigns could become more effective through greater public participation.
Blood Donation Camps to Continue Till October 17
Under the Viksit Bharat–Jan Seva Abhiyan, blood donation camps will continue to be organised until October 17 at Primary Health Centres, Community Health Centres, Sub-District Hospitals, District Hospitals, blood centres attached to medical colleges and other blood centres across Rajasthan.
Citizens will also be provided facilities for blood group testing during the campaign.
People will be encouraged to register as voluntary blood donors and donate blood regularly. The initiative aims to strengthen public participation in blood donation and help ensure the availability of blood for patients requiring transfusions.
The Principal Secretary appealed to healthy and eligible citizens across the state to come forward and donate blood voluntarily, urging them to participate in the humanitarian initiative.
