Chief Secretary directs intensive vaccination and monitoring to prevent Lumpy skin disease
Jaipur, September 2026 : The Viksit Bharat-Jan Seva campaign will be organised across the state from 17th September to 17th October. Chief Secretary V. Srinivas chaired a meeting at the Government Secretariat on Saturday to review the preparations for this campaign and the progress of important state schemes. During the meeting, the Chief Secretary discussed the action plan for the campaign and reviewed the Lumpy disease vaccination drive, prevention measures, and their overall impact. He instructed the concerned departments to make all necessary preparations for the successful execution of the campaign and to ensure maximum public participation.
Statewide campaign to run from 17th September to 17th October
Aiming to ensure public participation toward the goals of 'Viksit Bharat' while strengthening the spirit of public service, social responsibility, and good governance, the 'Viksit Bharat-Jan Seva' campaign will be conducted statewide. Under this initiative, various programmes focused on public service and community involvement will be organised.Activities will include blood donation camps, painting, speech, and essay competitions in educational institutions, motivational video screenings, and the felicitation of Asha Sahyoginis and Anganwadi workers. Student rallies, voluntary labour donations 'Shramdaan', community activities, public service camps, rangoli demonstrations, and programmes encouraging innovation will also be featured.
Instructions for intensive vaccination and monitoring to prevent Lumpy disease
The Chief Secretary directed officials to ensure 100% vaccination, strict isolation measures, and an extensive public awareness campaign to control Lumpy skin disease. He emphasised the need to continuously monitor the situation and take immediate action as required. Dr. Praveen Malik, Animal Husbandry Commissioner (GoI), shared insights on the ongoing efforts to control the infection nationally and state-wide. He directed officials to make effective efforts toward achieving 100% vaccination, with a special focus on destitute animals and cow shelters (gaushalas).Principal Secretary of the Animal Husbandry Department, Vikas Sitaram Bhale, stated that cattle fairs have been banned across the state to control the disease. Following GoI guidelines, animal attendants will conduct door-to-door surveys to monitor livestock health.
Principal Secretary, Revenue, T. Ravikant, gave updates on the Farmer Registry in the state, instructing all District Collectors to review and achieve their targets. The Chief Secretary also issued guidelines regarding employment and timely wage payments under Viksit Bharat -G RAM G. While reviewing RAJEEVIKA he directed relevant officials on cluster identification and other key milestones. Administrative secretaries and senior officials from the respective departments attended the meeting in person, while District Collectors joined via VC.
