Who Will BJP Choose as Chief Minister in Bengal?

Kolkata, May 2026 : The question of who will be appointed Chief Minister in West Bengal has become a major talking point following the election results. Suvendu Adhikari:
Suvendu Adhikari is among the frontrunners for the Chief Minister’s position. Once a close associate of Mamata Banerjee, he has a strong grassroots presence and an extensive organisational network. In 2021, he earned the title of “giant killer” after defeating Banerjee in the Nandigram constituency. However, his alleged involvement in the Narada sting case could pose a challenge to his elevation as Chief Minister.

Dilip Ghosh:
Former state BJP president Dilip Ghosh is credited with transforming the party into a formidable force in West Bengal, particularly by establishing it as the principal opposition in 2021. Samik Bhattacharya:
