MBC Empowerment Gains Momentum Under CM Bhajanlal Sharma’s Leadership

Jaipur, February 2026 :Under the sensitive, visionary and capable leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma, the state’s Most Backward Classes (MBC) are steadily moving towards self-reliance and empowerment. Owing to the state government’s welfare schemes and firm policy initiatives, thousands of MBC families are being integrated into the mainstream of development, while new dimensions of social justice are being established through education, employment, support and dignity.

Scholarship schemes provide strong support to students

In 2025, more than ₹248 crore was spent under programmes operated through the Devnarayan Scheme to promote educational advancement among MBC students. Under the Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme for students from Class 11 to higher education, over ₹102.42 crore has been spent in the current financial year, benefiting more than 37,000 students. Similarly, under the Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme (Classes 6 to 10), ₹7.10 crore was spent to support over 69,000 students.

Devnarayan hostel and Gurukul schemes strengthen quality education

Through the Devnarayan Gurukul Scheme, meritorious students are being admitted to reputed private institutions to ensure access to quality education. With a provision for the admission of 500 students annually, more than ₹10 crore has been spent under this scheme in the current financial year. Additionally, around 3,750 students are benefiting from approved hostels under the Devnarayan Hostel Scheme, while more than 5,000 students are enrolled in approved schools under the Devnarayan Residential School Scheme.

Special initiatives to promote girls’ education

To encourage girls’ education, girls’ colleges with hostels have been established for MBC students in Nadoti (Karauli) and Bayana (Bharatpur). An amount of ₹74.80 lakh has been spent at the Nadoti college, benefiting 177 girl students, while ₹155.29 lakh has been spent at the Bayana college, providing educational opportunities to 543 students.

Path paved for success in competitive examinations

Under the Chief Minister Anuprati Coaching Scheme, MBC students are being provided coaching at selected institutions for prestigious competitive examinations such as IAS, RAS, CLAT, NEET and REET. With an expenditure of ₹4 crore, the scheme is offering students a strong platform to prepare for their future.

Skill development opens doors to employment

Under the Devnarayan Scheme, technical and vocational training is being imparted to more than 500 students in six ITI institutions, with an expenditure of ₹3.65 crore, enabling youth to move towards self-reliance and employment.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma, empowerment of the Most Backward Classes has evolved beyond policy measures into a living example of social justice and inclusive development.
