Mist Sprays and Anti-Smog Guns at Stations, a Big Success in the Fight Against Pollution: CM Rekha Gupta
New Delhi, February 2026 : Delhi Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta has stated that the Delhi Government has successfully completed another important step toward making the capital clean, pollution-free, and beautiful. She informed that the target of installing Mist Spray Systems or Anti-Smog Guns (ASG) at all 143 elevated metro stations in the Delhi region under the Delhi Metro network has been achieved ahead of the scheduled time. The Chief Minister has appreciated this effort of the Metro.
The Chief Minister stated that tackling air pollution remains a top priority of the Government, and concrete, practical measures are being implemented at the ground level. As part of this effort, 131 mist spray systems and 12 anti-smog guns have been installed so far in busy and sensitive areas such as Metro stations. Wherever technical constraints did not permit the installation of mist spray systems, anti-smog guns have been deployed to ensure that there is no shortfall in pollution-control measures.
She further informed that the initiative covers 89 on-road and 54 off-road elevated Metro stations. This step will not only help improve the capital’s air quality but also provide commuters and citizens with a cleaner and healthier environment.
Emphasising that environmental protection and urban beautification are being pursued in parallel, the Chief Minister said that artwork has been completed on 50 Metro pillars located across various corridors. These artworks depict nature, flowers, birds and Indian cultural symbols, enhancing the city’s identity and visual appeal.
Smt. Rekha Gupta stated that the Delhi Government’s commitment goes beyond providing relief from pollution; it aims to develop the capital into a beautiful, vibrant and world-class city. The installation of mist spray systems, anti-smog guns at Metro stations and artwork on pillars forms part of this broader vision. The Government will continue to undertake such effective measures for environmental protection and urban beautification in the times ahead.
Praising the cooperation extended by all departments and agencies involved in the campaign, the Chief Minister said that it is only through coordinated efforts between the Government and institutions that Delhi can be transformed into a clean and better capital.
