Smoke-Free Kitchens Reach 1,339 Families in Kabirdham Under Ujjwala Yojana 3.0
Ujjwala Yojana Makes Kitchen Work Easier, Ensures a Safer Future
Raipur, February 2026 : A clean kitchen is not just a convenience but a marker of healthy living and a dignified lifestyle. Launched to provide relief to women struggling with smoke from traditional stoves, Ujjwala Yojana 3.0 is bringing positive change to the lives of poor and rural families. Through this scheme, women are gaining freedom from smoke, better health, and safer kitchens.
In Kabirdham district, 1,339 new gas connections have been provided to eligible beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana 3.0. These connections have brought the greatest relief to families who were earlier forced to cook using firewood, cow-dung cakes, or coal. With the availability of LPG connections, women are now free from harmful smoke, and kitchen work has become easier and safer than before.
The scheme is being implemented under the leadership of Narendra Modi with the objective of providing clean fuel to women from poor households. Beyond protecting health, the scheme is also saving women’s time—time they can now invest in their children’s education, self-employment, or other productive activities.
In rural areas, the Ujjwala Yojana has also ushered in social change. Earlier, women had to spend hours wandering in forests to collect fuel; today, safe and clean fuel is available at home. This has enhanced women’s safety and improved their overall standard of living. The new connections provided under Ujjwala Yojana 3.0 are not merely gas cylinders; they represent an important step toward better health, dignity, and a more comfortable life. The scheme is playing a crucial role in women’s empowerment and in realizing the vision of a Clean India.
