Music Makes Life Beautiful, Says CM Devendra Fadnavis

Nagpur, March 2026 : Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that music has the power to make life beautiful, crediting singers and composers for enriching human life through their art.

He was speaking at the ‘Sur Jyotsna National Music Awards’ ceremony held this evening at the Divisional Sports Complex in Mankapur. The Chief Minister noted that the Sur Jyotsna Awards are among the country’s significant honours in the field of music.

On the occasion, young artists Sharyu Date and Rishikesh Karmarkar, known for their excellence in the Warkari musical tradition and classical singing, were felicitated. Renowned playback singer Shaan was honoured with the Icon Award, while noted music composer Anu Malik received a Special Award. Pandit Ajay Pohankar was conferred the Legend Award, and Nishant Gupta was recognised with the Bal Pratibha (Young Talent) Award.

The event was attended by Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule as the chief guest and playback singer Roop Kumar Rathod. The ceremony was presided over by Vijay Darda, Chairman of the Lokmat Editorial Board.

During the event, Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule was also honoured by the Chief Minister with the ‘Maharashtrian of the Year – Outstanding Politician’ award.

Several dignitaries, including Minister Sanjay Rathod, Minister of State Pankaj Bhoyar, Minister of State Ashish Jaiswal, Lokmat Editor-in-Chief Rajendra Darda, and Managing Director Devendra Darda, were also present on the occasion.
