Balancing Nature and Development is Our Priority: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that the state government is committed to establishing a balance between nature and development so that both wildlife and rural communities remain safe. Providing a dignified life to families displaced from the Pench Tiger Reserve is a priority for the government. For this purpose, the state government is continuously making efforts to provide them with cultivable land, housing, and basic facilities such as electricity, water, and roads.
Karmajhiri Becomes Example of Environmental Conservation and Development
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, concrete steps are being taken for the upliftment and rehabilitation of tribal communities. As part of this initiative, 40 new houses are being constructed at Karmajhiri for families displaced from the Pench Tiger Reserve. This initiative to provide fully equipped homes illuminated with solar energy has become an inspiring example of coordination between environmental conservation and development. The satisfaction and smiles visible on the faces of the families resettled at the new location reflect the true success of this initiative.
Solar-Powered Homes, Better Roads, Education and Healthcare Facilities
A total of 40 houses are being constructed at Karmajhiri for families displaced from the Pench Tiger Reserve. These houses are being equipped with modern amenities, including solar-powered lighting systems. Support for this initiative has been provided by Unity Bank under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme. Improved road connectivity, easier access to education and healthcare services, and new livelihood opportunities are also being ensured. As a result, the standard of living of the resettled families is improving significantly. With sensitive planning and systematic implementation, this initiative at Pench Tiger Reserve is emerging as a model of positive change built on trust.
This voluntary rehabilitation undertaken by the Forest Department represents a balanced example of forest and environmental conservation along with community welfare. For the marginalised tribal communities living on the fringes of forest areas, this initiative is opening new avenues of hope and a better future. The rehabilitation effort demonstrates that well-planned initiatives combining environmental protection with development can safeguard nature while bringing meaningful change in people’s lives.
