England Announces FIFA World Cup 2026 Squad.

London; May 2026: Head Coach of England Soccer Team (Three Lions) Thomas Tuchel has announced the 26 men squad for the FIFA World Cup 2026, as the Three Lions bid to win the World Cup for the first time since 1966.

Goalkeepers: Jordan Pickford (Everton), Dean Henderson (Crystal Palace), James Trafford (Manchester City).

Defenders: Marc Guehi (Manchester City), John Stones (Manchester City), Ezri Konsa (Aston Villa), Dan Burn (Newcastle United), Nico O’Reilly (Manchester City), Reece James (Chelsea), Tino Livramento (Newcastle United), Jarell Quansah (Bayer Leverkusen), Djed Spence (Tottenham Hotspur).

Midfielders: Declan Rice (Arsenal), Elliot Anderson (Nottingham Forest), Jordan Henderson (Brentford), Kobbie Mainoo (Manchester United), Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid), Morgan Rogers (Aston Villa), Eberechi Eze (Arsenal).

Forwards: Harry Kane (Captain – Bayern Munich), Bukayo Saka (Arsenal), Marcus Rashford (Barcelona), Anthony Gordon (Newcastle United), Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa), Noni Madueke (Arsenal), Ivan Toney (Al Ahli).

One name that was always going to be in this surprising England squad was talisman Harry Kane.

The England captain has just posted a video on social media in the last few minutes expressing his pride at going to another World Cup, his third. “I never take these moments for granted”, Kane said.

He will be hoping to become the Three Lion’s leading scorer in World Cup history this summer.

Since the final squad has been officially announced; hence some big names those who were speculated will not be playing at this year’s World Cup for England.

Phil Foden (Manchester City); Cole Palmer (Chelsea); Trent Alexander-Arnold (Real Madrid); Harry Maguire (Manchester United); Luke Shaw (Manchester United); Morgan Gibbs-White (Nottingham Forest); Jarrod Bowen (West Ham United);

Other less established players who had been involved in recent England camps but also miss out are:

Lewis Hall (Newcastle United); Adam Wharton (Crystal Palace); James Garner (Everton); Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Leeds United); Dominic Solanke (Tottenham Hotspur); Myles Lewis-Skelly (Arsenal).

Both the appearances and goals records for England in World Cup history could fall at the upcoming tournament.

  • Goalkeeper great Peter Shilton played 17 times for the Three Lions over 03 World Cups, including a run to the semi-finals in 1990, and is currently three clear of the next highest total. However, both Jordan Pickford and John Stones are currently on 12 games after both being mainstays at the last two editions of the tournament in 2018 and 2022. If both men play each match and England progress from their group, they could break Shilton’s record in the quarter finals.
  • Can Kane eclipse Lineker? Gary Lineker currently holds the distinction for most goals scored, having netted 10 across two World Cups. Harry Kane, the Golden Boot winner at the 2018 edition, will surely have an eye on smashing this record – he’s only 03 behind on 08. Could he bag a hat-trick in one group stage match to achieve the feat? You wouldn’t bet against him; with the form he’s been in for Bayern Munich this season.

Team Maverick.
