Chief Minister Reviews Budget Announcements and Development Progress
Jaipur – Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma convened a meeting to review the implementation of budget announcements and the progress of development works. He emphasized that officials must ensure the timely completion of projects aligned with the aspirations of the people, maintaining high-quality standards.
During the review meeting held at the collectorate auditorium in Bharatpur on Friday, Chief Minister Sharma urged officials to expedite processes from budget announcements to land allotments, including the preparation of Detailed Project Reports (DPR) and the tender process. He stressed the importance of planning for future urban expansion to avoid resource shortages.
Mr. Sharma directed the prompt preparation of DPRs for critical infrastructure, including a ring road from Ludhawai to Tuhia, as well as the Agra road to Tayonga road and the Alwar-Bharatpur four-lane project. He also instructed the early acquisition of land for the Bayana Bypass, Deeg-Nagar Bypass, and other road construction initiatives.
Additionally, the Chief Minister called for a route chart for electric buses, including the identification of charging points for public transport within the Bharatpur Municipal Corporation area, in line with budget provisions. He emphasized the need to map the entire city for essential utilities like electricity, water, sewerage, gas, and telephone lines while constructing proposed roads in new colonies.
Mr. Sharma also highlighted the importance of burying open electrical wires underground and positioning transformers as platforms to prevent electrical incidents, thereby enhancing the city’s aesthetics. He advocated for a comprehensive drainage system to address chronic waterlogging issues.
Regarding heritage preservation, the Chief Minister insisted on high-quality maintenance of tourism-related sites, including Kishori Mahal, Town Hall, and local temples, to ensure timely completion. He proposed beautification plans for city intersections and road construction connecting key tourism sites like the Ghana and Ganga temples, Laxman temple, and Lohagarh Fort.
In the departmental review, Mr. Sharma directed the demarcation of land for the expansion of RBM Hospital and the operation of a Trauma Center at the Medical College. He suggested relocating Janana Hospital from the Old City and consolidating various government offices located in historic areas like Lohagarh Fort into Karmshila Bhawan.
He also outlined drainage improvements, including enhancing water flow from Ranjit Nagar drain and Govardhan drain, and ensuring pure water inflow into Sujan Ganga by removing encroachments on water sources. Plans for constructing canals to direct water to Ghana or creating an artificial lake near Ghana were discussed as potential long-term solutions for waterlogging.
Furthermore, he called for the construction of a flyover from Hiradas to Kumher Gate and proposed plans for a second flyover from Kali Bagchi to RBM Hospital, anticipating future needs.
