Celebration of 100% LPG Home Delivery in Serchhip

Serchhip : The Serchhip District Consumer Association held a ceremony at the DC Pisapui Hall in Serchhip to celebrate achieving 100% LPG home delivery across Serchhip Town. The event was presided over by Minister Pu B. Lalchhanzova from the Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department.

In his remarks, the Minister highlighted the significance of achieving full home delivery service for LPG in Serchhip, emphasizing that such advancements could inspire other regions to follow suit. He praised the efforts of the District Consumer Association for their commitment, noting their dedication as exemplary for others to learn from. Speaking on improvements in ration card distribution, he acknowledged ongoing efforts to ensure fair access to rice, stating that the ration card system is being refined to reduce unnecessary accumulation, particularly for single individuals, with a special package introduced for single households to provide rice at a reduced price of INR 1.20 per kg.

The Minister also emphasized that securing consistent LPG supply is essential, with all efforts made to ensure reliable distribution for the benefit of the district and its residents. Highlighting the importance of consumer welfare, he urged everyone to continue working diligently for the people, ensuring that services reach the grassroots level effectively.

Serchhip District Consumer Association Secretary Pu Laldinpuia reported that this milestone was made possible by consistent efforts and collaboration with Supply Department, Mizofed, and Legal Metrology Department. He noted that the system for home delivery began on May 10, 2022, and has since reached 100% implementation across 17 localities in Serchhip, resulting in improved access and service quality.

The event was presided over by Vice President of the District Consumer Association Pu RL Chhuanawma, with participation from other key officials, including Director Pi Saizikpuii, Deputy Commissioner Pu Paul L. Khuma, Mizofed Chairman Pu Rothangpuia, and Finance Secretary Pu PC Vanlalnuna.
