Passengers’ convenience must be prioritized in bus services: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that passengers’ convenience should be given top priority while operating the new passenger bus service in the state. Buses should be operated considering the needs of passengers in rural areas and the importance of intercity routes. Special care should be taken to ensure that all the benefits of technology platforms like ticket booking and bus tracking are easily available to the passengers. He said that a deadline should be set to ensure all necessary arrangements and that the operation of the new passenger bus service in the state will be ensured soon. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that action should be taken against those bus operators who are not following the terms and conditions mentioned in the permit. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was directing the officials in the meeting held at Samatva Bhawan regarding starting a new passenger bus service in the state and its organizational structure, responsibilities and operation. Information about the system operating in other states was also given in the meeting. Chief Secretary Shri Anurag Jain and other officers were present in the meeting.
Division-level training centers will be built for staff in the news bus service
It was informed in the meeting that along with urban and rural transport services, it is proposed that a state-level holding company be formed under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister to manage the new inter-urban and inter-state passenger transport service. There will be companies at the regional level and transport committees will also be formed for monitoring at the district level. Control and command centers will be established in state-level and division-level offices. The operator will be selected and contracted through a tender process on notified routes. The company will provide permits and operational support to the contracted operators. Training centers will also be set up at the divisional level for the staff engaged in operating passenger bus services.
Updated IT technology solutions will be used
Updated IT technology solutions will be used for passenger convenience and better bus service operations. E-tickets, mobile app, bus tracking, occupancy viewing and simple payment facilities will be available to the passengers. There will be provision of operator app, video audit software, field audit dashboard etc. for contract operators. State and division level companies will use the board control for command center software, booking platform for bus-auto-taxi-metro etc., online e-booking and complete monitoring of buses. Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Rajesh Rajoura, Shri SN Mishra, Principal Secretary Shri Sanjay Shukla, Shri Manish Rastogi, Principal Secretary, Law Shri N.P. Singh were present in the meeting.
