Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia takes holy dip in Sangam

Mahakumbh Nagar : Over 48 crore devotees have taken a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj during the grandest religious and cultural gathering ever organized, and on the second day of Maghi Purnima, an unceasing stream of devotees continued to arrive for the sacred bath in the Mahakumbh. Alongside the masses, prominent personalities from across the country are also taking dips at the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mystical Saraswati to seek spiritual merit.

Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia took a dip in the Sangam on Thursday and prayed for public welfare as part of this sacred tradition. Expressing his gratitude, he said that immersing in the holy waters of the Sangam is akin to attaining salvation. He also considered himself fortunate to be part of this divine occasion. On behalf of the state government, Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi welcomed Scindia with a Kumbh Kalash, marking the moment with reverence.

Union Minister Scindia thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for organizing such a magnificent and divine event. He remarked that generations have long awaited a spectacle of this scale, where people worldwide gather to take a dip of faith in the Sangam.

He described the participation of over 50 crore devotees as an extraordinary experience and lauded the impeccable arrangements at the Mahakumbh. Reflecting on his ancestral connection with Prayagraj, Scindia noted that his forefathers played a pivotal role in freeing this region from Mughal rule and restoring its spiritual and temple heritage, making this pilgrimage personally significant for him.

Former Union Minister and Congress MLA from Tonk, Rajasthan, Sachin Pilot, also participated in the holy ritual on Thursday. After dipping in the Sangam, he shared pictures on his X handle, describing the Mahakumbh as a symbol of unwavering faith and devotion. He offered prayers for the progress and prosperity of the nation and the state, embracing the spiritual essence of the occasion.

Former Union Minister Prakash Javadekar took a video to Instagram on Thursday to share a video praising the remarkable arrangements made by the Yogi government for the Prayagraj Mahakumbh. Reflecting on his experience, he described the Mahakumbh as a breathtaking spectacle of faith, where millions gathered in harmony without any complaints, confusion, or unmet needs.

Javadekar recounted that just last week, his family had the privilege of taking a holy dip in the sacred waters of the Mahakumbh. He described the scene as a “human sea” swelling in Prayagraj, with chants of ‘Har Har Gange’ reverberating. He commended the Yogi government’s impeccable management, ensuring no pilgrim was left hungry, thirsty, or without shelter. The entire atmosphere, he said, was filled with love, care, and unwavering devotion.

On the same day, Gujarat’s Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Home, Industry, Transport, Youth, and Sports, Harsh Sanghvi, also arrived in Prayagraj to participate in the grand spiritual congregation of the Mahakumbh. He performed traditional rituals and prayers after taking a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam. Notably, renowned actor Vicky Kaushal was also present during this sacred moment.

During his visit, Harsh Sanghvi met with revered spiritual leaders, including Satua Baba and Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Avdheshanand Giri of the Juna Akhara, seeking guidance and blessings.
