Raipur: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai Inaugurates Environmental Park in Bagiya
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated a newly developed Environmental Park in his native village Bagiya, located in Jashpur district. Built at a cost of ₹53 lakh across 28 hectares of picturesque natural landscape, the park features a variety of attractions including medicinal plant zones, an adventure zone, butterfly zone, children’s park, waterfall, and meditation huts. During the inauguration, the Chief Minister also planted coconut, areca nut, and Sita Ashok saplings, conveying a message of environmental conservation.
Nature and Wellness in One Place
The park offers a perfect retreat for families to spend time in a clean and natural environment. Designed to bring people closer to nature, the Environmental Park includes a jungle trail with wellness features like a yoga zone, health path, jungle gym, oxygen booth, and nature swings. Medicinal plants such as Harra, Giloy, Bel bamboo, Sarpagandha, Ashwagandha, Barbados lily, mint, lemongrass, and amla have been planted throughout the park.
Butterfly Zone and Environmental Awareness
A dedicated butterfly zone showcases the entire life cycle of butterflies and highlights their ecological importance. Various butterfly species native to Jashpur are on display, aiming to raise public awareness about their conservation.
Adventure Zone for Children
The Mowgli Adventure Zone features thrilling activities for children, including a commando net, tire walk, balance bridge, rope walk, inclined logs, cargo net, Burma bridge, and more. A kids’ play zone also includes natural swings and interactive installations, making the park a hub of fun and learning.
Cultural Touch and Eco-Friendly Features
The park also includes a serene pagoda under the shade of Sal trees for families to relax. Tribal-inspired sculptures created by indigenous artists have been installed to reflect the region’s cultural heritage. Bamboo dustbins placed throughout the park promote environmental consciousness.
A Personal Touch from the Chief Minister
Interacting warmly with children playing in the park, the Chief Minister gifted them fruits and dry fruits. Students like Dipanshu Yadav, Neetu Dewar, Bheem Vishwakarma, and Ritesh Ram expressed joy after meeting him.
Present on the occasion were MLA and Vice Chairperson of the Surguja Region Tribal Development Authority Mrs. Gomti Sai, District Panchayat President Mr. Salik Sai, PCCF Mr. Arun Pandey, Commissioner Narendra Dugga, IG Ankit Garg, Collector Rohit Vyas, SP Shashimohan Singh, DFO Jitendra Upadhyay, IFS Nikhil Agrawal, and several other officials and public representatives.
