Review of ‘Dhartii Aba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan’ Held Under the Chairmanship of Union Minister Raksha Khadse
Jalgaon : Aiming for the holistic development of tribal regions in the district, the ‘Dhartii Aba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan’ is being implemented. A review meeting of the initiative was conducted under the chairmanship of Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports, Raksha Khadse, during which the work carried out by 21 departments was reviewed.
During the meeting, the Department of Social Work at Kavayitri Bahinabai Chaudhari North Maharashtra University was tasked with preparing a micro-survey plan for assessing the basic infrastructure and development needs in 56 tribal villages and hamlets.
Present at the meeting were District Collector Ayush Prasad, CEO of the District Council Meenal Karnawal, Deputy Forest Conservator Jameer Shaikh, Project Director of Rural Development Agency Raju Lokhande, Head of the University’s Social Work Department Dr. Ajay Patil, Tribal Development Project Officers, and heads of other relevant departments.
Key Directives Issued by Minister Raksha Khadse:
- Veterinary Services: Upgrade the existing 6 veterinary hospitals and set up new centers as needed to improve animal healthcare in tribal areas.
- Skill Development: Provide training to tribal students in essential skills based on the university’s survey findings.
- LPG Gas Distribution: Make special efforts to ensure LPG gas connections are provided to those in need.
- Agro-Industrial Development: The Agriculture Department should plan livelihood opportunities for 53 proposed farmer groups and facilitate support through the ‘ATMA’ project.
- Water Irrigation Projects: In the forest areas of Raver, Yawal, and Muktainagar, construct water harvesting projects to retain water within the forests.
- Timely Project Execution: All departments must complete their planned projects within the stipulated timelines.
District Collector Ayush Prasad also announced that department-wise reviews would be conducted in the coming days to ensure smooth execution of the initiative.
