Major Action by Transport Department: High-Beam LED Lights Removed from Buses and Trucks₹5,000 Fine and ₹20,000 Road Tax Also Collected

Raipur : In a significant move to enhance road safety, the Sukma Transport Department has launched a crackdown on vehicles using high-intensity LED lights, especially in the wake of increasing nighttime road accidents. Under the guidance of Collector Mr. Devesh Kumar Dhruv and the leadership of District Transport Officer Mr. S.B. Rawate, a campaign has been initiated to remove blinding LED lights installed on buses, trucks, and pickup vehicles.

As part of this operation, several violations were detected, resulting in a total fine of ₹5,000 being imposed. Additionally, two-wheeler and four-wheeler drivers were educated about the dangers of using unauthorized lighting. Drivers were strictly warned that using such lights in the future would lead to stringent action. Furthermore, passenger vehicles were made to pay ₹20,000 in road tax, which was deposited into the government’s account.

This initiative by the Transport Department is a significant step toward ensuring road safety. Use of seat belts in four-wheelers and helmets in two-wheelers has been made mandatory. The removal of high-beam LED lights is aimed at reducing accidents and inconvenience on roads. This proactive measure can set an example not just locally, but across the state and the country. Continuous efforts like these are expected to significantly bring down road accidents and make travel safer and smoother.

Officials have appealed to the public and all vehicle owners to follow traffic rules and actively contribute to making roads safer for everyone.
