CM Requests ₹63.60 Crore from Centre for Cyber Centre of Excellence in Dehradun
New Delhi: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi and discussed several key issues related to the overall development of Uttarakhand.
In view of the growing challenges in cyber security, the Chief Minister requested the approval of ₹63.60 crore for the establishment of a “Cyber Centre of Excellence” in Dehradun. The proposed centre will play a crucial role in preventing digital crimes, training experts, strengthening cyber forensic capabilities, and developing modern resources.
The Chief Minister also raised the issue of damage to the state’s power infrastructure caused by natural disasters, urging that power generation, transmission, and distribution assets be included under NDRF/SDRF compensation provisions, especially considering the geographical challenges faced by small Himalayan states. He said that this would further strengthen the state’s disaster management framework.
In addition, CM Dhami requested early approval of ₹150.16 crore for the expansion of Sitarganj Central Jail.
Referring to the Uttarakhand Global Investors Summit 2023, which was held successfully under the inspiration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Chief Minister informed that the state had signed MoUs worth over ₹3.50 lakh crore. Calling this a moment of pride for the state, he proposed that a ‘Uttarakhand Investment Festival’ be organized to celebrate this achievement. The event is proposed to be held in the Pantnagar-Rudrapur industrial region, and the Chief Minister invited the Union Home Minister to attend the festival as Chief Guest.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah assured positive action on all the proposals presented by the Chief Minister.
The CM emphasized that the Government of Uttarakhand, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is fully committed to realizing the vision of a “New India.” He added that the continuous guidance and support of the central government is giving new momentum to the development of the state.
