Sharadadham Added to Chhattisgarh’s Tourism Map on CM Vishnu Deo Sai’s Directive
Chhattisgarh Tourism Board to Promote and Develop Facilities at the Site
Sharadadham: A Unique Confluence of Devotion and Knowledge
Raipur : Sharadadham, a renowned religious and natural tourist destination located on the inter-state border of Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand, has officially been included in the list of designated tourist sites by the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board following the directive of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai. The Tourism Board has issued a circular to this effect, paving the way for the site to receive greater recognition and support.

This development will allow for enhanced publicity and the allocation of funds for basic tourist amenities at the site. The move is seen as a significant step in promoting regional tourism and spiritual education.
Sharadadham: A Spiritual and Educational Sanctuary
Sharadadham is uniquely positioned as a sanctum of both devotion and learning, dedicated to Maa Saraswati, the goddess of wisdom. The site runs a free residential coaching program for underprivileged children from both Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand. According to Rajkumar Singh, President of the Sharadadham Committee, the institute provides food, lodging, and education entirely free of cost. The expenses are covered through donations and support from devotees.
Enveloped in Nature’s Beauty
Located approximately 30 kilometers from Jashpur district headquarters, in the Duldula block, Sharadadham is nestled amidst dense forests, offering a scenic and tranquil setting. The soothing sound of the nearby Girma River adds to the charm and spiritual ambiance of the temple.
The temple itself is a marvel of volunteerism and devotion. Constructed entirely through community labour and donations, it reflects the dedication of devotees from both states. The temple’s architectural design draws inspiration from the famous Lachhagadh Hanuman Temple in Jharkhand.
Jashpur: Emerging as a Tourism Hub
CM Vishnu Deo Sai has been actively working to transform Jashpur district into a thriving tourism destination. Under the Bharat Darshan Scheme, ₹10 crore has been sanctioned for the development of the Mayali Nature Camp located in Kunkuri block.
Additionally, Madheshwar Mahadev, situated in the same region, has recently been recognized by the Golden Book of World Records as the world’s largest natural Shiva lingam. Building on this momentum, CM Sai has announced the construction of a suspension bridge at Kotebiradham in Farsabahar block, modeled after the iconic Lakshman Jhula in Rishikesh.
Efforts are also underway to develop other scenic spots such as Deshdekha and Ranidah, with the vision of boosting eco-tourism and green industries. The ultimate goal is to generate employment opportunities for local residents through sustainable tourism and infrastructure development.
With Sharadadham’s official recognition as a tourist site, it is poised to become a key spiritual and ecological attraction in the region, contributing to the broader vision of making Jashpur a prominent name on India’s tourism map.
