Raipur : Union Minister of State for Women and Child Development, Smt. Savitri Thakur, paid a courtesy visit to Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today at his residence in the capital, Raipur. During the meeting, the two leaders held detailed discussions on various welfare schemes being implemented in Chhattisgarh for the benefit of women and children.

Chief Minister Sai emphasized that under the commitment to holistic development, the Chhattisgarh Government is especially focused on empowering women and children. He shared that 159 Anganwadi Centres are being successfully operated under the “Niyad Nellanar Yojana” in the Naxal-affected districts of Bijapur, Sukma, Kanker, Dantewada, and Narayanpur. This initiative has laid a strong foundation for the economic self-reliance of women across the state.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister felicitated Smt. Thakur with a shawl and a coconut as a mark of respect. Also present at the meeting were the State Minister for Women and Child Development, Smt. Laxmi Rajwade, and Chairperson of the State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, Dr. Varnika Sharma.
