Tamil Nadu CM M.K. Stalin Inaugurates Rs. 54.80 Crore Worth of Revenue Department Infrastructure Across the State

New District Collectorate Block in Dharmapuri and Sub-Registrar Offices Aimed at Improving Public Service Delivery

Chennai – Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Thiru M.K. Stalin today inaugurated a range of new infrastructure projects under the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, including a new Additional District Collectorate building in Dharmapuri built at a cost of Rs. 36.62 crore, and four Sub-Registrar Office (SRO) buildings along with two residential quarters for Revenue Inspectors constructed at a cost of Rs. 18.18 crore.

These projects, built at a total cost of Rs. 54.80 crore, aim to modernize administrative infrastructure and enhance the efficiency of public service delivery across the state.

Major Inaugurations

At the Dharmapuri District Collectorate complex, the Chief Minister inaugurated:

  • An Additional District Collectorate Building, built on 4.25 acres of land with five floors, housing various key offices such as:
    • Special District Collector
    • Planning and Development Office
    • Welfare Office for Adi Dravidar communities
    • Media and Public Relations Wing
    • District Revenue Officer’s Office
    • Rural Development Wing
    • Zilla Parishad Office
    • Land Survey and Mining Offices
    • Conference Halls and other administrative sections

The new facility is designed with modern amenities, improved accessibility, and integrated government services to benefit citizens and streamline administrative workflows.

Other Key Projects Inaugurated:

  • Four Sub-Registrar Office Buildings at:
    • Kamalapuram (Madurai District)
    • Pennagaram (Dharmapuri District)
    • Ottapidaram (Thoothukudi District)
    • Dindigul (South Dindigul District)
  • Two Residential Complexes for Revenue Inspectors at:
    • Thuckalay (Kanyakumari District)
    • Panruti (Cuddalore District)

These additions support the government’s objective to enhance administrative convenience for revenue officials and improve access to government services for citizens at the grassroots level.

Departmental Progress and Impact

The Revenue and Disaster Management Department plays a pivotal role in delivering essential public services such as issuing community, income, and residence certificates, patta transfers, and managing disaster relief operations.

In the past four years, the government has approved the construction of 111 new revenue offices, allocating Rs. 262.52 crore for this purpose. Out of these, 71 buildings have already been completed at a cost of Rs. 180.19 crore and are fully operational.

Additionally, during the same period, the department has processed:

  • 1.22 crore patta transfer applications, and
  • 17.54 lakh housing patta distributions

These efforts underscore the government’s commitment to transparency, accessibility, and citizen-focused service delivery.

These new facilities mark a significant step toward creating a more digitally enabled, citizen-friendly, and efficient governance system, reinforcing the Tamil Nadu government’s commitment to administrative modernization and public welfare.
