High-Level Meeting on New Criminal Laws – New Criminal Codes Strengthening Public Trust in the Judicial System – Rajasthan to Become a National Role Model in Implementation: Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma – 100% Implementation in Selected Model Districts and Circles Within the Next 3 Months
Jaipur, Aug 2025 – Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma said that the three new laws recently implemented in the country place greater emphasis on justice rather than punishment. The Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam are fostering positive public trust in the judicial system. The State Government aims to make Rajasthan a national role model in implementing these new criminal codes.
Shri Sharma was presiding over a high-level meeting at the Chief Minister’s residence on Thursday to review the implementation of the new criminal laws. He stated that the State Government is ensuring the provision of all necessary resources to strengthen law and order and to implement the new laws effectively.
VC Rooms to be Established on Priority –
The Chief Minister said that the new criminal laws include provisions for recording witness testimony via video conferencing. To comply with this, video conferencing rooms should be established on priority in courtrooms, prisons, hospitals, forensic science labs, and government offices. These VC rooms should be equipped with adequate facilities to ensure that witnesses feel secure.
‘Need Help’ Feature for Women on RajCop App –
Shri Sharma said that, as part of citizen-centric provisions, the State Government is introducing a ‘Need Help’ feature on the RajCop Citizen Mobile Application to provide immediate assistance to women in the state. Additionally, for all citizens, the RajCop app will provide SOS alerts and updates on the progress of investigations. He also directed effective monitoring of cases where adjournments are sought in prosecution matters.
Modernization of Forensic Labs and Adequate Staffing –
The Chief Minister noted that the new laws have improved provisions regarding forensic capability. He instructed that modernization of the state’s forensic labs be ensured, along with the appointment of sufficient human resources. He also ordered the rapid fulfillment of RajNet connectivity and hardware resources at police stations. Furthermore, he directed that 100% implementation of the new criminal codes be ensured in selected model districts and circles.
The meeting was informed that all investigating officers have been registered on the e-Evidence and e-Summons apps. The serving of e-summons is being carried out via the RajCop app and the new CCTNS system, and training is being provided for electronic service of summons.
The meeting was attended by Minister of State for Home Shri Jawahar Singh Bedham, Chief Secretary Shri Sudhansh Pant, Director General of Police Shri Rajeev Kumar Sharma, and senior officials from the Departments of Home, Law and Legal Affairs, Medical and Health, and Information Technology and Communication, among others.
