Chief Minister Meets Prime Minister In Delhi
Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence in Delhi today. The meeting was cordial and constructive, covering several key issues concerning Mizoram.
Among the important matters discussed were the Thenzawl Peace City Project, the development of the National Highway from Aizawl to Thenzawl, and progress under the Handholding Policy. They also discussed the impact of the current conflict in Chin Hills, Myanmar, and its spillover effects on Mizoram.
The Chief Minister raised concerns about the difficulties faced by Aizawl residents in accessing gas cylinders and emphasized the need for a piped gas supply. He updated the Prime Minister on the ongoing Gas Pipeline Project worth ₹926.5 crore being implemented by Indradhanush Gas Grid Limited (IGGL).
In response, the Prime Minister assured that the Deputy Commissioner of Mamit District would be directed to ensure smooth facilitation of the pipeline construction work.
The Chief Minister also requested the inauguration of the new Bairabi–Sairang railway line and the Sairang Railway Station. In reply, the Prime Minister said he would try to personally attend the inauguration when a suitable time is scheduled.
