Senior Bureaucrats Appointed for Implementation of Development Plans of Five Jyotirlingas in Maharashtra
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’ Directive; Regular Review and Coordination to be Ensured
Mumbai, Aug 2025 : In order to ensure the effective and expedited implementation of development plans for five Jyotirlingas in Maharashtra, five senior bureaucrats have been appointed. This decision has been taken as per the directives of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. These officers will regularly review the progress of works under their respective Jyotirlinga development plans and submit reports to the Chief Minister.
Comprehensive development plans have been prepared for five Jyotirlingas in the state. To ensure timely and quality execution of these plans, the following senior officers have been appointed for coordination and monitoring:
- Shri Kshetra Bhimashankar (Pune District) – Additional Chief Secretary, General Administration Department, Mrs. V. Radha
- Shri Kshetra Grishneshwar (Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar District) – Additional Chief Secretary, Higher & Technical Education Department, B. Venugopal Reddy
- Shri Kshetra Trimbakeshwar (Nashik District) – Principal Secretary, Finance Department, Mr. Saurabh Vijay
- Shri Kshetra Aundha Nagnath (Hingoli District) – Principal Secretary, Finance Department, Mrs. Richa Bagla
- Shri Kshetra Parli Vaijnath (Beed District) – Secretary, Other Backward Classes and Bahujan Welfare Department, Appasaheb Dhulaj
The development plans for these five Jyotirlinga pilgrimage sites have already received approval in high-level committee meetings. Subsequently, official government resolutions (GRs) have been issued to sanction the projects.
As per the approvals:
- Bhimashankar Pilgrimage Development Plan includes 11 projects worth ₹148.37 crore.
- Grishneshwar Pilgrimage Development Plan is valued at ₹156.63 crore.
- Trimbakeshwar Development Plan involves projects worth ₹275 crore.
- Aundha Nagnath Pilgrimage Development Plan has been allocated ₹15.21 crore.
- Parli Vaijnath Pilgrimage Development Plan includes 92 projects amounting to ₹286.68 crore.
These designated officers will coordinate the acceleration and quality execution of the various development works under their respective Jyotirlinga projects. This is the first time that such a decision has been made at the Mantralaya level to appoint senior officers for coordination and supervision of the implementation of pilgrimage development plans.
