State SC Sub-Plan Steering Committee Reviews Schemes, Prepares for National Commission Visit

Jaipur, Aug 2025 – A crucial meeting of the State-Level Steering Committee formed under the Scheduled Caste Sub-Plan was held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Avinash Gehlot.

In the meeting, held at the Secretariat conference hall, the Minister reviewed the budget allocated to various departments from the state plan fund in proportion to the Scheduled Caste population (17.83%) and the expenditure incurred. He also discussed preparations for the upcoming state-level review meeting of the National Commission for Scheduled Castes.

Gehlot assessed the progress of various schemes being run for Scheduled Castes by different departments and issued necessary directions. Officials from the concerned departments made detailed presentations on the schemes and expenditures through PowerPoint.

Additional Chief Secretary of the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Aparna Arora, sought point-wise updates from departmental officers and gave necessary instructions. Director Ashish Modi directed all departments to update the information and statistics sought by the Commission.

The meeting was attended by officers from the Water Resources, Public Health Engineering, Public Works, Higher & Technical Education, Home, Police, Prisons, Rural Development, Forest, Skill & Entrepreneurship, Revenue, Mines & Petroleum, Tourism, Medical, Food & Civil Supplies, Planning, Industries, Energy, Cooperation, Information Technology & Communication, Animal Husbandry, Science & Technology, School Education, Sanskrit Education, Transport, Women & Child Development, Agriculture & Horticulture, Panchayati Raj, and other related departments.
