Health Minister Reviews Progress — Cardiac Tower to Begin in March — Ayushman Tower to Offer World-Class Facilities — Special Focus on Hospital Management
Jaipur, Aug 2025 : In the coming months, residents of Rajasthan will gain access to world-class, high-quality healthcare facilities. To achieve this, construction work on the Ayushman Tower at Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital will be accelerated and equipped with state-of-the-art amenities. Similarly, the Cardiac Tower, nearing completion, will be operational from March 30 next year. The Emergency Unit at SMS Hospital will also be expanded and modernized to meet advanced medical standards.
To ensure the timely completion of these projects, Health Minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar will chair monthly review meetings.
At a high-level review meeting held on Tuesday in the auditorium of SMS Medical College, Minister Khimsar issued clear directives. He conducted a thorough review of the Ayushman Tower, Cardiac Tower, and Emergency Unit expansion works, instructing officials to expedite progress without compromising on quality.
“Our goal is not only to complete these projects quickly but also to ensure that people receive maximum benefit. These facilities must be built with cutting-edge technology and comprehensive medical services,” the Minister emphasized.
Mr. Khimsar noted that flaws in the original planning of the Ayushman Tower had been identified, and the state government has now arranged the necessary financial management to complete the project. He instructed officers to ensure there are no shortcomings in execution and to seek expert advice and services whenever required. He further stressed that hospital management would play a key role in maintaining world-class healthcare standards.
Reviewing the Cardiac Tower project, the Minister directed officials to complete building construction alongside equipment procurement and installation to ensure its launch by March 30. He also pointed out that the current emergency unit is too small to handle the rising patient load, and therefore, its expansion must focus on making it ultra-modern and patient-friendly, so that more patients can be treated effectively in critical situations.
Secretary of Medical Education, Ambreesh Kumar, informed that continuous discussions are being held on the healthcare services to be offered at Ayushman Tower to make it truly world-class. Expert consultations are also underway to ensure efficient hospital management once operations begin. He also briefed the Minister on the progress of the Cardiac Tower and Emergency Unit.
The meeting was attended by Principal of SMS Medical College Dr. Deepak Maheshwari; Superintendent Dr. Sushil Bhati; Additional Director of Medical Education Mukesh Kumar; Deputy Director Dr. Vandana Sharma; Architect Anup Bhartaria, and other senior officials.
