Unveiling of Shaheed Gujar Mal’s Statue: Youth Should Draw Inspiration from Martyrs and Step Forward in Nation’s Service – Minister of State for Home Affairs

Jaipur, Aug 2025 : Minister of State for Home Affairs Shri Jawahar Singh Bedham said that the youth should take inspiration from the martyrs who sacrificed their supreme lives while defending the country’s borders and come forward for the service of the nation. The martyrs who laid down their lives for the country will always be revered; it is because of their sacrifice that the nation is safe today.

The Minister of State for Home was addressing the unveiling ceremony of the statue of Shaheed Gujar Mal at village Shyampura in Bayana, Bharatpur district on Thursday. He said that today India has stood firmly against terrorism at the global level. Our brave soldiers, standing resolutely at India’s borders, have given a befitting reply to enemy nations and terrorists. He said that soldier Gujar Mal sacrificed his life in the service of the nation, making the supreme sacrifice which can never be forgotten; for the youth, he will always serve as a guide. He further said that during Operation Sindoor, our army soldiers showed the whole world through their bravery and skill that India is now a strong and determined country of the 21st century.

Shri Jawahar Singh Bedham said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma, the state government is continuously working for the upliftment of youth, women, farmers, laborers, and entrepreneurs. The martyrs who sacrificed their lives at the borders of the nation do not belong to any one community or region; future generations will always remember their contribution. Through the Soldiers’ Welfare Board, the government has also stood by ex-servicemen, the widows of martyrs, and their dependents by running welfare schemes.

At the statue unveiling ceremony, Shaheed’s widow and family members were honored with garlands and shawls. The guests unveiled the statue of Shaheed Gujar Mal and offered floral wreaths. The ceremony was also addressed by Uttar Pradesh’s Saradhana MLA Shri Atul Pradhan along with local public representatives. On this occasion, District President Shivani Dayama and a large number of villagers were present.
